Seattle Documentary Family Photographer

candid, real life stories for families, newborns, events, and small businesses

FALL IN LOVE WITH YOURSELVES AND THE LIFE YOU’RE CREATING.

Chaos happens. Tantrums happen. Life happens. But it’s in the midst of all that where you build the real love and connection in your family. That’s the real you. That’s the family story I’m here to tell, and the everyday memories you want to hold onto forever.

Sooo what is “documentary family photography” exactly?

It’s your family’s life – as is. It’s your family’s love – unrefined.

It’s capturing moments that are magically mundane. It’s telling the true story of the love you nurtured in the home you made. It values connection over poses.

Documentary family photography meets you where you are (quite literally! It’s usually in the comfort of your home). You don’t have to coordinate your outfits, fake smiles or pretend you’re flawless.

So are you ready for a fun, chill, maybe messy, but full of love photo session?

Hi, I’m Laura.

I’m a “social introvert” who loves being around my people, but also wants to just stay home and knit. INFJ if you’re into the Myers-Briggs stuff. I love singing, am in choir, and am often listening to music. I’m a messy-but-craves-organization type of person, which I often blame on ADHD. The first time I picked up a camera was when I was 8-years-old to take pictures on family road-trips.

The moment I saw documentary family photography I knew it was what I wanted to do. When my first kiddo was born, I was looking for a photographer to capture us in a way that spoke to me. And now I cannot get enough!

“Having Laura capture a day in our lives was a dream come true. Laura was able to capture the beauty in the mundane. Laura was calm and made everyone feel natural. The experience was wonderful but the magic is in the product. The photos fro our day in the life are something I will treasure forever. They are beautiful, emotional, natural, and they are us!"

unposed. real. quirky. beautiful. honest.

Let’s break the old model and make a new normal.
A new normal that celebrates the ordinary.
That documents the quirks.
That helps you remember your realest moments.
